MCIA is operated by the consortium between one of the Philippines' leading construction firms, Megawide Corporation and India's GMR Group, a world renowned infrastructure developer with an excellent track record of transforming airports into exciting, efficient and award winning in India and overseas.

The consortium has been formed to manage and develop the Mactan Cebu International Airport for the next years, under the Philippine government's Public Private Partnership program.

Mactan Cebu International Airport footfalls around 10.2 million passengers in 2017 from 2014’s 6.9 million for Terminal 1. Currently, the terminal offers a great mix of shopping categories in consumer goods, food and beverage, perfumes, liquor, tobacco, confectionery, apparel, watches, jewelry, leather, souvenirs, etc.

The opening of Terminal 2 will be exclusively for international passengers. T2 will have 3 levels with a double sided pier spread over 65,000 sqm. 3-level in-line baggage screening system; standalone goods screening system, 4 baggage carousels, 14 escalators and 12 elevators and seven (7) aerobridges (7 contact gates and 1 bus gate).
