backarrow First Runway Fun Run Happening This July at Mactan-Cebu International Airport

Lapu-Lapu City, Philippines — This July 16, 2022, first Runway Fun Run is set to happen at Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA). This charitable event is organized by the Mactan Airline Operators Council (MAOC) with two (2) categories open for the public to join — 3km and 5km — on the 3.3 runway race track.

“By bringing people to the runway, we want to signify the return of the aviation and tourism industry with the ease of travel restrictions globally and the gradual improvement of traffic,” said Raymund Hicarte, Chairman of MAOC.

A portion of this proceeds will go to Tingo Day Care Center at Olango Island, Lapu-Lapu City.

To register, interested participants can visit the registrations sites at Radisson Blu, Runnrs at Ayala Center Cebu or online via https://bit.ly/MCIARunwayFR2022. Registration fee for the 3km is P400.00 while for the 5km is P500.00.

Participants will receive a notification to claim their race kits five (5) days before the race day which include race t-shirt, race baller, meal and raffle coupons, and other exciting merchandise. Participants will also have the chance to win round trip tickets to international and domestic destinations, hotel accommodations, and many more.

On the race day, participants will follow the usual security screening and protocols to ensure the safety of the facility and the airport facility.

This charitable project is in cooperation with the Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA), GMR MEGAWIDE Cebu Airport Corporation (GMCAC), Cebu Pacific Air, the Department of Tourism (DOT), the Provincial Government of Cebu, and the City Government of Lapu-Lapu.
